This November, our team volunteered with Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity to help construct a new home for a local family in need. It was a meaningful day of hands-on service and a reminder of how much impact a single day of volunteering can have.
Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to providing safe, stable, and affordable housing for hardworking families in our community. Habitat homes are not free - instead, qualifying families become partners in the process.
They contribute “sweat equity” by helping build their homes, attend homeowner education programs, and then purchase the completed home through an affordable mortgage program. This model empowers families for long-term stability, financial independence, and a stronger future for the next generation.
Our team joined Habitat staff and community volunteers on the construction site, working on framing, roofing elements, and exterior details. As a local roofing contractor, we were proud to contribute not only our time, but our trade experience.
We see every day how a roof protects what matters most—and volunteering with Cape Fear Habitat allowed us to give that security back to a family right here in the Cape Fear area.
Being locally owned means we are more than a roofing company—we are neighbors. Whether we are helping a homeowner through storm damage or supporting nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity, our mission remains the same: to strengthen the communities we serve—one roof, one home, and one act of service at a time.
Cape Fear Habitat relies on volunteers, donations, and community partnerships to continue building affordable housing throughout the Wilmington area. If you’d like to get involved, learn more about construction days, donations, or sponsorship opportunities on their volunteer page and explore upcoming opportunities.
At Summit Roofing, we’re committed to making a positive impact—in our industry and in our community. Together, we can continue building stronger homes, stronger families, and a stronger Cape Fear region.
