Pages Creek Trail

For more outdoor activities, look no further than Pages Creek Trail, which is located at 1215 Middle Sound Loop Rd, Wilmington, NC 28411. This lovely trail is made for walking and biking, but there is so much more in the way of activities. The trail is open every day from 8 am to 8 pm every day for the public. Feel free to bring a kayak, a camera, or your furry friend!

This trail creates a big loop that is just shy of a mile and is filled with opportunities to enjoy the sights. The Pages Creek Trail is great for walking, hiking, running, and biking.  A kayak launch is also available for those looking to get out on the water. About half of the trail is along a creek and marsh with plenty of openings for guests to view the wildlife. There is an abundance of birds that call Pages Creek home, so birdwatchers are encouraged! This trail includes a gravel parking lot and areas to throw away waste to keep the location clean.

The Pages Creek Trail marsh provides a home to many different species of birds! When you visit, there are so many birds to see, so binoculars are a must. You may be able to find herons and egrets swimming in the tall Spartina grass, ospreys and hawks perched on dead tree snags, and blackbirds and warblers flitting in and out of nearby bushes. Many of these birds have adaptations that help them live in this unique ecosystem. Despite the brackish water and salty air, the salt marsh’s abundance of food and relative security makes it a desirable home for many bird species. If you are an avid birdwatcher and you want to see all that Pages Creek Trail has to offer, it’s sometimes simpler to start by listening for the birds and looking for movement.

There are smaller loops that break off from the main Pages Creek Trail to create even more walking opportunities for guests to enjoy. If you do end up bringing your dog, there are special dog-wading areas in the water for your pooch to cool down on a warm day.

The pathways at Pages Creek Trail are well-maintained, so you can focus on a relaxing walk or bike ride. The scenery is beautiful, and you’ll love being near the water. This is a great spot for a peaceful stroll or an invigorating workout. Be sure to bring the family and see all that nature has to offer on a nice sunny day.
